How We Can Help You

Learn about the services our specially educated caregivers can offer you

Couple

Do you speak Spanish?

We offer Spanish interpretation for patients who do not speak English or feel more comfortable speaking with their caregivers in Spanish. In fact, half of our staff members, including a physician, speak both English and Spanish. When making an appointment, ask for an interpreter.

At the AIDS Activities Office, we offer medical care, including medications, and support for you and your family. We work hard to resolve your concerns and problems so that you can concentrate on taking care of yourself.

We are specially educated to care for people with HIV/AIDS, and get to know each of our patients personally. We ensure you get the most comprehensive care to improve your overall quality of life.

Meet Your Care Team

Your doctors are HIV specialists and will develop care plans for your health care needs.

  • Timothy Friel, M.D., infectious diseases physician, AIDS Activities Office clinical director
  • Margaret Hoffman-Terry, M.D., infectious diseases physician, AIDS Activities Office medical director
  • Edgardo Maldonado, M.D., internal medicine physician
  • Joseph Yozviak, D.O., internal medicine physician

Your nurses and medical assistants specialize in the care of individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Some are certified in AIDS care.

Your registered dietitian will customize a nutrition plan to meet your needs.

Your mental health coordinator

Your case manager will help you meet your personal and family needs so that you can take care of yourself. They work closely with you to access resources and provide you moral support.

Your AAO assistants provide support services to your clinical team, including help with research projects and community outreach.
